MISSION STATEMENT
The Olga V. Figueroa Zapata County Public Library’s mission is to inform, enrich, and empower the community of Zapata County through effective access to a vast array of ideas and information. The library provides opportunities for the people of the Zapata community to become technologically literate and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in life.
 
 
ABOUT US
The Olga V. Figueroa Zapata County Public Library is dedicated to providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Our staff is helpful in providing assistance with locating books from the library’s collection and also with technical support for patrons who encounter problems in the computer department.
 
 
LIBRARY SERVICES
The library provides different services to the community of Zapata County:
Children’s Section: (Fiction, Non-Fiction, Biography, Spanish, Texas Children, Science Experiment Manuals, Reference Books, Audio, Disney’s Ingles Sin Barreras, Magazines, and a selection of Accelerated Reader and Classic Books.
Adult Section: (Fiction, Non-Fiction, Biography, Texas Collection, vertical files, school yearbooks, large print books, paperbacks, westerns, reference books, magazines, audios, Ingles sin Barreras and other study guides)
Genealogy Department: (Zapata and surrounding areas’ birth, death, baptism, and census records on microfilm, microfiche, and books.)
Computer Department: The library provides computer services with internet access to everyone who needs a source for research information, communication, and learning. With the help of the South Texas Library System and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission, the Olga V. Figueroa Zapata County Public Library also proves online databases (Texshare Database and Reference Backup), these databases are used for a source of information if more information is needed or if the library is unable to provide additional information needed.
Meeting Rooms: The library provides meeting rooms to different organizations for meetings and other types of gatherings. It is free of charge and is only provided to non-profit organizations.

ABOUT US
The Guadalupe & Lilia Martinez Zapata County Public Library is a branch to the main library in Zapata. It provides children’s books, adult books, videos, magazines, local newspapers, and computers with internet access. Our branch library also provides a number of Accelerated Reader and Classic Books for the students of the Zapata community.
 
It is located 14 miles north on U.S. Highway 83 in San Ygnacio, TX.
