Reserve Deputy, Precinct 1 Constable Office 

The Blanco County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office is accepting applications for a Reserve Deputy Constable servicing 550 square miles of Blanco County. The qualifications and responsibilities are as follows:

Answering calls for service, serving civil papers when needed, Bailiff duties, Environmental law enforcement, traffic enforcement, motorist assistance, providing assistance to other area law enforcement agencies, patrolling areas of the county related to Precinct 1 and other duties as assigned.  Patrol experience is preferred.  Applicants must have a basic TCOLE peace officer certification and be able to pass an extensive background investigation.  For more information, contact Precinct 1 Constable Patrick Fisher at 830-265-3222 or email at pfisher@co.blanco.tx.us to arrange an interview.

Detention Officer

The Blanco County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for the position of Detention Officer.  Detention Officers are responsible for the safe and secure operation of the county detention facility.  Duties include supervision of inmates, oversee the provision of inmate medical care, process arrestees through the various steps of booking from intake to release, decipher and route court and legal documents, and interact with citizens, outside agencies, and departments.  Twelve-hour shifts include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.  Experience is not required but applicant must pass an extensive background investigation and obtain a TCOLE Jailer’s License within one year of employment.  Blanco County pays for your training & licensing.

This is a full-time position with full benefits.  Thirteen (13) paid holidays per year, 80 hours paid vacation per year after your first year of employment.  Other benefits include sick leave, health, dental, vision, AD&D and life insurance.  Retirement through Texas Counties and District Retirement Association in which Blanco County matches your contribution at 1 to 1 (7%).  Starting pay for this position is $18.39 hourly rate.
