The Tyler County Jail is a short-term incarceration facility. The Correctional Division is responsible for the care, custody, and control of those incarcerated. The Tyler County Jail maintains an in-house Registered Nurse to care for the medical needs of those incarcerated. The Tyler County Jail is able to house 43 inmates, in addition to cells used for temporary housing.
There are three type of inmates housed at the Tyler County Jail:
1. Individuals who did not post bail and awaiting trial.
2. Individuals who have been convicted and awaiting transfer to a state/federal facility.
3. Individuals who have been convicted of misdemeanor offenses.
