  • Contacting the Judge

    Please understand that the judge cannot talk to you about your case. This is called an ex-parte communication and is prohibited by ethical rules that the Court must follow. Court staff also cannot talk with you other than to discuss settings and then only if you are representing yourself. If you are represented by an attorney, the staff will speak only with your attorney.

     

    Obtaining Copies Of Documents And Checking The Status Of An Order

    All records are managed and preserved by the County Clerk’s Office.  They will also know the status of any document you have e-filed. Please reach out to them for copies or status updates on orders.

    Office Hours:  Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  If you are calling for a court date and we do not answer, please leave a message.  We may be in court.

  • Available hearing dates for Judge Hartmann are listed on the court’s calendar at the bottom of the Wilson County Court at Law webpage.   

    To request a civil, probate or guardianship hearing, complete the online setting request form below.  Before completing this form:

    • Check the court’s calendar for available hearing dates
    • Confer with opposing counsel about the selected date
    • Comply with Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 21d for zoom hearings (all parties agree to zoom hearing)

    You are not placed on the Court's docket unless you have received a confirmation email response back from the court coordinator.  If you do not receive a response within 3 business days, please contact our office at courtatlaw@wilsoncountytx.gov

    ONCE YOU RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL RESPONSE FROM THE COURT COORDINATOR, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO PROVIDE NOTICE OF THE HEARING TO ALL APPROPRIATE PARTIES. 

  • Uncontested probate matters may be heard by either Wilson County Judge Henry L. Whitman, Jr., or Wilson County Court at Law Judge Tina Hartmann.  Judge Whitman hears uncontested probate cases on Wednesdays.  Judge Hartmann hears uncontested probate matters on any designated civil hearing date. 
  • The following matters must be set before the Wilson County Court at Law Judge Tina Hartmann:

    • All contested matters
    • All jury trials
    • All zoom hearings
    • All civil cases appealed from the Justice of the Peace courts
    • All civil lawsuits (does not include uncontested probate cases)
    • All guardianship hearings
    • All hearings requiring a court reporter's record
