Public Information Request

Caldwell County's desire is to provide the fullest possible access to public information. For detailed guidelines and requirements about public information request, please refer to the Texas Public Information Act.

General Information

  • The Texas Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, do legal research, or to answer questions.
  • Request must be made in writing.
  • Some request may have  an associated cost in accordance with the charges set by Texas Office of Attorney General and the Texas Administrative Code. You will be advised of the estimated cost prior to fulfillment of the records request.
  • On occasion, some request information may be protected from release to the public and will be referred to the Texas Attorney General Office (AG) for an opinion. The requester will be notified within 10 days of receipt of their request of its is being sent to the AG.
