**Anyone who has not worked for the County in a General Election will have to fill out an Application for employment. This will be done at the training classes. Below you will find a form that contains a list of acceptable documents for identification. Note: If you have a document from list A that is all you will need. If you do not have a document from list A, you will need a document from list B and C.

TEXAS ELECTION CODE Sec. 254.0401. AVAILABILITY OF REPORTS ON INTERNET. (a) The commission shall make each report filed with the commission under Section 254.036(b) available to the public on the Internet not later than the second business day after the date the report is filed.(a-1) Repealed by Acts 2023, 88th Leg., R.S., Ch. 838 (H.B. 2626), Sec. 2(1), eff. September 1, 2023.(b) The clerk or secretary of a political subdivision’s governing body or, if the governing body does not have a clerk or secretary, the governing body’s presiding officer shall make a report filed with the political subdivision by a candidate, officeholder, or specific-purpose committee under this subchapter available to the public on the political subdivision’s Internet website not later than the 10th business day after the date the report is received.

Hardin County welcomes participants in its Volunteer Deputy Registrar Program to serve and assist in registering eligible citizens to vote. Becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar is easy, but it is a position of trust and responsibility that one should not accept lightly.

Volunteer Deputy Registrars serve for two-year terms that expire on December 31 of even numbered years.

Hardin County offers ONLINE training to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar.

Read through the material and when you feel adequately educated please complete the Request for Appointment, come by our office with the completed request, to take the exam, and receive your certificate of appointment and supply packet. CURBSIDE VOTING: Curbside Voting Service is available during Early voting and Election Day, to any voter who is physically unable to enter the polling place without the likelihood of needing personal assistance or injuring their health.

Curbside Process

1. There will be a space reserved for Curbside Voters and a sign with instructions in the parking spot.
2. Voters will be qualified in the Poll Pad or on the combination form like he would if voting inside the polling place.
3. A voter votes the ballot in private unless they need assistance. If a voter has an assistant, they must sign the Oath of assistance form if they are going to assist.
4. A voter places the ballot into a secrecy envelope.
5. The assistant or the poll worker deposits the ballot into the Verity Scan Unit.

VOTACIÓN EN LA Acera: El servicio de votación en la acera está disponible durante la votación anticipada y el día de las elecciones para cualquier votante que no pueda físicamente ingresar al lugar de votación sin la probabilidad de necesitar asistencia personal o dañar su salud.

Notice of Voting Order Priority for Voters with certain Disabilities. 

Pursuant to Section 63.0015. Texas Election Code: An election officer shall give voting order priority to individuals with a mobility problem that substantially impairs that person's ability to move around.

• A person assisting an individual with a mobility problem may also, at the individual's request, be given voting order priority. 
• Disabilities and conditions that may qualify you for voting order priority include paralysis, lung disease, the use of portable oxygen, cardiac deficiency, severe limitation in the ability to walk due to arthritic, neurological, or orthopedic condition, wheelchair confinement, arthritis, foot disorder, the inability to walk 200 feet without stopping to rest, or use of a brace, cane, crutch, or other assistive device.
• Voters who wish to be given voting order priority, and be accepted for voting before others in line to vote at that polling place, may indicate this to any election officer serving at the polling place. The presiding election judge shall bring the voter and the voter’s assistant, if applicable, forward to the front of the line.

AVISO de PRIORIDAD de ORDEN de VOTACIÓN PARA VOTANTES CON CIERTAS DISCAPACIDADES

De conformidad con la Sección 63.0015, Código Electoral de Texas: 
Un oficial de elecciones debe dar prioridad de orden de votación a individuos con un problema de movilidad que dificulta sustancialmente la capacidad de la persona para moverse. 

• Una persona que asiste a un individuo con un problema de movilidad también puede, a petición del individuo, ser dado prioridad en el orden de votación.

Sec. 43.034.  ACCESSIBILITY OF POLLING PLACE TO THE ELDERLY AND PERSONS WITH PHYSICAL

DISABILITIES.  (a)  Each polling place shall be accessible to and usable by the elderly and persons with physical disabilities. To be considered accessible, a polling place must meet the standards established under Article 9102, Revised Statutes, including the following standards:

(1)  the polling place must be on the ground-level floor or be accessible from the ground-level floor by an elevator with doors that provide an opening of at least 36 inches in width;

(2)  doors, entrances, and exits used to enter or leave the polling place must have a minimum width of 32 inches;

(3)  any curb adjacent to the main entrance to a polling place must have curb cuts or temporary nonslip ramps;

(4)  any stairs necessary to enter or leave the polling place must have a handrail on each side of the stairs and a nonslip ramp;  and

(5)  the polling place may not have a barrier that impedes the path of a person with physical disabilities to the voting station.

(b)  The commissioners court shall provide a polling place that complies with Subsection (a) in each county election precinct.  The site shall be made available for use as a polling place on every day that an election may be held within the precinct by any authority that holds elections.  The commissioners court may make expenditures from either the general fund or the permanent improvement fund to bring an existing county-owned site into compliance with Subsection (a).

(c)  The governing body of each political subdivision that holds elections shall cooperate with the commissioners court in its respective county in implementing this section and is subject to the same requirements for compliance as prescribed by Subsection (b). If the authority holding an election rejects a county-designated polling place that is available and chooses to use a different site of its own designation, it shall provide a polling place that complies with Subsection (a) at its own expense.  A political party that is holding a primary election may not reject an available county-designated polling place without the prior consent of the secretary of state.
