“The Texas Workforce Commission ("TWC") is the entity responsible for enforcing the Fair Housing Act in the State of Texas. You have one year after an alleged violation to file a complaint, but you should file it as soon as possible. Go to  https://www.twc.texas.gov/programs/civil-rights to file a complaint.

The County of Colorado has received a Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation Method of 
Distribution (CDBG-MIT MOD) contract under the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The County will 
comply with the Civil Rights requirements of Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act 
and the Fair Housing Law and ensure that equal opportunities are afforded to all persons
and that no person shall be excluded or denied program benefits on the basis of race, color, 
religion, sex, disability, familial status, and national origin. The County of Colorado has 
established policies, plans and resolutions for the following:

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: FAIR HOUSING, IT’S THE LAW
To promote fair housing practices, the County of Colorado encourages potential homeowners and 
renters to be aware of their rights under the National Fair Housing Law. Title VIII of the Civil 
Rights Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination against any person on the basis
of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status or national origin in the sale or rental 
of units in the housing market. For more information on fair housing or to report possible

POLICY OF NONDISCRIMINATION ON THE BASIS OF DISABILITY
The County of Colorado does not discriminate on the basis of disability in the admission or access
to, or treatment or employment in, its federally assisted programs or activities. TY Prause, County

nondiscrimination requirements contained in the Department of Housing and Urban

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION & GRIEVANCE PROCEDURES NOTICE
FOR THE GLO COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-MITIGATION PROGRAM

The County of Colorado has adopted complaint and grievance procedures regarding its Community 
Development Block Grant Mitigation Method of Distribution (CDBG-MIT MOD) Program. Citizens may 
obtain a copy of these written procedures from the County Judge, Ty Prause at the
The County of Colorado Courthouse located at 400 Spring Street #107, Columbus, Texas 78934, or by 
calling (979) 732-2604 during regular business hours. These procedures outline the steps for a 
citizen to follow if he/she wishes to file a complaint or grievance about GLO CDBG-MIT MOD 
activities.
A person who has a complaint or grievance about any services or activities with respect to the GLO 
CDBG-MIT MOD project may, during regular business hours, submit such complaint or grievance, in 
writing to Ty Prause, County Judge at the County of Colorado Courthouse located at 400 Spring 
Street #107, Columbus, Texas 78934
or by calling (979) 732-2604.  The County of Colorado will make 
every effort to respond fully to such complaints or grievances within fifteen (15) working days 
where practicable after receipt of the original complaint or grievance.
