Mission
To serve the Veteran and their families by providing assistance, guidance and representation in the application process of VA and state benefits for which they are eligible, advocating for the Veteran and their dependents.

Services
The Veteran Services Office is a department of Van Zandt County. We are not part of the Veterans Administration, nor funded by them. We are your advocate and can assist you navigating the Veterans Administration for the following:

Veterans Compensation or Pension;
Disability Retirement;
Dependency and Indemnity Compensation;
Survivors Pension;
Appeal for Denied Claims;
Increase Existing Benefits;
Educational Benefits;
Vocational Benefits;
Obtaining Lost Military Records;
Burial Allowance;
And more.

Free Veteran shuttle service from Van Zandt County to the Dallas VA Medical Center for Veterans needing transportation. Contact Jason Sluder at 903-583-6496 to schedule a ride. The pick-up/drop off site with designated Veteran parking spots is on the east side of Duke's Travel Plaza at IH-20 and TX Hwy 64.
 

 

Free Veteran Shuttle service from Van Zandt County to the Dallas, VA hospital for all Veterans needing transportation. Contact Tom McCCure with Veteran Affairs at 903-583-6496 to schedule a ride. Dukes Travel Plaza at interstate 20 and Texas Hwy. 64 has provided the pick-up/drop off site with designated Veteran parking spots on the East side of the Plaza.
