The Human Resources Director assists elected officials and department directors with personnel issues, including but not limited to hiring, performance appraisals, progressive discipline and termination. Responsible for County compliance with state, federal and local employment laws; Authoring and updating County personnel policies; Assisting employees with a variety of employment and life issues, including leave policies, FMLA, retirement, insurance, worker’s compensation and other benefits; Facilitating County-wide training; Overseeing the County benefits program and risk management. Serves as the County Wellness Coordinator.

Benefits: The Human Resources office processes all county
employee benefit enrollment forms, benefit change forms, optional
supplemental insurance, COBRA benefits, and change of beneficiary forms,
refunds and retirement applications to the Texas County & District
Retirement System. The Human Resources office enrolls all new employees,
processes terminated employees, maintain payroll related records on all
current, retired and terminated employees. In addition, this division
is responsible for balancing county health, dental and supplemental
insurance billings and all supporting documents. Specific activities
include problem solving for employees, retirees and their dependents and
change form processing, as well as administration of the cafeteria plan
and deferred compensation. Process workers compensation reports,
un-employment records.
