COVID-19 Recommendations

With the suggestions made by the Texas Supreme Court, this court wants to make attorneys aware in civil matters that they may continue to schedule essential and non-essential hearings with this Court, but are instructed to schedule non-essential hearings such as agreements, prove ups, and pretrial matters by telephone conferencing with the Court.

For essential hearings, if possible they will be by telephonic conference.  If in court, then only the attorneys and parties will be permitted into the Courthouse and witnesses should remain outside or available by telephone.  Whenever possible schedule all hearings by phone conference.

Also, the court prefers to conference with children when necessary by Facetime until we have this virus behind us.  Thank you for your cooperation.  Also see Rusk County Courthouse's website's for further COVID-19 information and requirements see the County Homepage.

  • If you are trying to set or reset a case, please follow these instructions:

    1. View the courts 2020-2021 Daily Calendar for available dates and times. (The calendar is updated daily, so there is no need to confirm with the court before submitting an Order Setting Hearing)

     2. Correspond with all counsel in the case of your request, and to the extent possible, have your requested date and time agreed upon by all parties.

    3. Once an agreement has been reached by all counsel, you will need to file an Order Setting Hearing with the court for the Judge to approve and sign. A signed copy of the Order must be provided to all counsel and parties needing notice of the hearing.

***Regarding Temporary Order Hearings set on the Wednesday following 7 days from "service of citation:"
Counsel is responsible for notifying the Court Coordinator, by emailing natilieccl@co.rusk.tx.us, when "service of citation" is completed.

Click here for the "Remote Hearing Packet" which includes the Remote Order Setting Hearing forms.
