  • Filing Fee for Official Public Records: $25.00 per first page and $4.00 per additional page per document.
    We only Record original or certified documents.  Please hand carry, mail, or ship original documents to the clerks office, Return posted envelope is requested but not required.


    SEARCHES:  The County Clerk and Staff will not conduct searches that are not authorized by statute.  The record search authorized by statute is Federal and State Tax Liens (Texas Property Code  14.004(d).

    The Error & Omissions Insurance of the  County Clerk only covers actions of the County Clerk and her staff, which are statutorily required duties.  Therefore, it is in the best interest of the county, as well as the clerk individually, to refrain from performing any action (including records searches) which is not legally required.

    Attorney General Opinion WW-607 (1959) Summary states: "The County Clerk has no duty to search the records under his control and guarantee the correctness thereof."

  • A couple that intends to be married in Texas must apply in person for a marriage license at a Texas County Clerk's Office. Both parties, in the presence of the County Clerk or Deputy Clerk, must sign the application for a license. There are a few exceptions as noted in the Texas Statutes.

    The fee for a formal marriage license is $81.00. If proof of state approved pre-marital counseling is provided, $60.00 will be deducted from the costs.

    Requirements

    • Proof of identity and age (Drivers' License, State Identification card, or other document issued by this state or another state, United States or a foreign country, or certified copy of applicant's birth certificate.)
    • There must be at least 72 hours between the time of issuance of a license and the time the ceremony occurs

  • Every 10 years, Texas requires that brands be reregistered in the county or counties in which you operate. 
    The cost to register or reregister a brand is $25 per location per animal type.
