  • Karnes County Facility Security

    Department: Karnes County Sheriff Office

    Reports to: Karnes County Sheriff

    Salary: $50,000 annually, plus benefits and uniform allowance

    Karnes County is hiring for a Facility Security position that responsibilities will be to provide security for the occupants and public visitors of the Karnes County Courthouse and other county facilities.

    License/Certifications required:

    • Level IV Security Guard License
    • Valid Texas Driver License

    Conditions of Employment:

    • Must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen.
    • Must successfully complete physical and psychological examination.
    • Must successfully complete a background investigation.

    Department: Grants Administration

    Reports to: Karnes County Judge

    Salary: $50,000 annually / $24.04 hourly

    Karnes County is hiring for a Grant Administrator position that will be responsible for identifying grant opportunities, preparing grant applications, securing grants of all types, and assisting in the management of approved grants.

    Education & Experience:

    • GED or HS Diploma is required
    • Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration preferred
    • Preferred experience in financial management, budgeting, and preparing/monitoring federal and state grants.

    • Karnes County Collection Site Operator (Part-Time)

      Karnes County Road & Bridge is seeking a part time collection site operator for the Karnes County Collection Site located in Karnes City, Texas. 

      Candidate must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in extreme weather conditions (ex. heat, cold, rain, humidity, fog) and be frequently exposed to dust, odors, electrical, mechanical and loud noises and be able to identify potentially toxic hazards.  Candidate must be able to sit, stand, stoop and/or twist for extended periods of time.  Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and pull, push or drag up to 100 pounds with or without assistance.  Candidate must also perform a visual inspection of all loads entering the site to ensure compliance with TCEQ standards for household waste. 

      Work hours will be Fridays (8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) and Saturdays (8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.).
