Full time Juvenile Probation Officer
Responsibilities
- Manages a caseload of juveniles, on probation or pending court proceedings, with the objective of resolving problems and improving behavior.
- Conduct thorough interviews with juveniles and their families, researching their backgrounds, keeping up with school attendance and behavior, and evaluating findings in order to make recommendation to the Court.
- Develop individualized case management plans that outline goals, interventions, and follow-up actions to support youth rehabilitation.
- Apply crisis management skills to de-escalate situations and ensure safety during volatile or emergency circumstances.
- Maintain detailed and accurate report writing on case progress, incidents, and court-related documentation.
- Collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies, schools, social services, court personnel, and community organizations to coordinate services and monitor progress.
- Perform regular home visits and community checks to assess compliance with probation conditions and provide ongoing support.
- Rotates on-call duty to determine whether to detain or release a juvenile upon arrest by a law enforcement agency and performs all other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Prior experience in law enforcement, social work, or juvenile justice is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated proficiency in interviewing youth and families with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Knowledge of crisis management strategies applicable to at-risk youth populations.
- Familiarity with report writing standards related to case management and legal documentation.
- Strong understanding of motivational interviewing techniques to foster behavioral change.
- Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive intervention plans.

Road Crew
Brown County is seeking to employ road hands. There are full-time and part-time positions currently available. Full-time positions require a CDL license. Previous experience with heavy equipment such as blading with a Maintainer, driving and operating trucks of different sizes, and utilization of other heavy equipment is desired. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: trimming of trees with a chainsaw and/or a boom shredder, mowing, shredding, weed eating, applying road patch material by shovel and other road duties as needed. Starting salary is $40,000/year with up to a 90 day probationary period with a potential increase in salary. Applicants must be able to pass a background check including a drug and alcohol screening. Benefit package with full time employment is included. Part-time positions are less than 30 hours per week currently at $14.00/hour.
