Part Time Deputy Voter Registrar
Assistant Elections Administrator
JOB SUMMARY:
Assists the Elections Administrator in direction and overseeing various elections sponsored by Brown County and contracted by cities and schools, while ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws specified in the Texas Election Code.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts the tabulation function for Brown County and is responsible for the care, maintenance, operation and storage of election tabulation equipment.
Reconciles issues regarding voter registration.
Supervise all voter registration data entry.
Supervise Early Voting Stations for all elections.
Maintain Chapter 19 funds and expenditures for voter enhancement projects.
Track legislation pertaining to elections and voter registration.
Maintain street index for TEAM to ensure voters are in correct precinct.
Perform all voter maintenance including voter applications, confirmations and statement of residence forms.
Perform mass mailing of voter registration certificates.
Assist in preparing election contracts for other political subdivisions.
Assist in the redistricting process for all political subdivisions.
Assist in preparing submissions to the Department of Justice.
Deputize and train Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School or equivalent required.
· Three (2) years of elections experience.
· Valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
· Very good oral and written communication/presentation skills.
· Ability to perform a wide range of election administration duties, including but not limited to working with voter registration, preparing election supplies equipment, to lift up to 25 lbs. of election supplies and equipment.

Road Crew
Brown County is seeking to employ road hands. There are full-time and part-time positions currently available. Full-time positions require a CDL license. Previous experience with heavy equipment such as blading with a Maintainer, driving and operating trucks of different sizes, and utilization of other heavy equipment is desired. Duties will include but are not limited to the following: trimming of trees with a chainsaw and/or a boom shredder, mowing, shredding, weed eating, applying road patch material by shovel and other road duties as needed. Starting salary is $40,000/year with up to a 90 day probationary period with a potential increase in salary. Applicants must be able to pass a background check including a drug and alcohol screening. Benefit package with full time employment is included. Part-time positions are less than 30 hours per week currently at $14.00/hour.
