Navarro County Texas

The Indigent Health Care Program is medical coverage for people who are not Medicaid eligible, with income less than 21% the Federal Poverty Level. Property, bank accounts and other countable resources must be within limits established by state rules.

Residence - The applicant must live in Navarro County and must intend to stay

Household - a CIHCP household is a person living along or two or more persons living together where legal responsibility for support exists, excluding disqualified person. A disqualified person is one who receives or is categorically eligible to receive Medicaid.

Resources - A household is eligible if the total countable resources do no exceed $2000. If a household has a disabled or aged person that meets relationship requirement, resources cannot exceed $3000.

Medical Need - Must have a medical necessity to obtain services.

Income - Monthly net income not exxceed 21% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines

• Medically necessary office visits
• Annual physical exams
• Diagnostic testing and imaging
• Specialty care upon referral/approval from your Primary Care Physician
• Inpatient hospital services must be medically necessary and provided in an acute care hospital to hospital inpatients, by or under the direction of a physician and for the care and treatment of patients.
• Outpatient hospital services must be medically necessary and provided in an acute care hospital to hospital outpatients, by or under the direction of a physician.
• 3 prescriptions per month, no more than $500 each (generic required if available) 30-day supply ONLY. No over the counter drugs.

• You MUST see one of the physicians here at the Dr. Kent E. Rogers Clinic
• You will need to make sure you renew your application every 6 months to determine eligibility.
• You must report ANY changes within 14 days. If you move, new phone number and/or any new household members. Any new job, income or money received must be reported.
• Any unpaid medical bills you receive after you are approved for the Indigent Program, please make sure to provide them with your Indigent ID # and claims address. Please also bring a copy to the Indigent Health Care Office.
• The Indigent Health Care Program will ONLY cover Basic Health Care Services.
