  • Jury Service Information

The District Clerk is in charge of the jury selection process for all Milam County courts. Petit jurors are randomly selected by a computer list made available to the District Clerk’s office by the Secretary of State. This list is compiled by the State and generated from voter registration in the county and residents of the county who hold valid drivers’ license and identification cards issued by Department of Public Safety.

To claim an exemption or disqualification, you should circle that number on the back of the card, sign and date the card and return it immediately to the court that issued the summons. You need not fill out the juror questionnaire on the card. This should only be filled out by jurors that are reporting for service.

For any questions regarding exemptions or disqualifications for a District Court jury, contact the numbers listed on the front of the card. You should call the court-coordinator’s number at
(254)-697-7011 the night before scheduled service for updated messages on the status of the trial.

For information regarding a summons for county court or justice courts, contact the appropriate court.
