          At approximately 1:20 am on August 27, 2019, Anderson County Sheriff Deputies were called out to Kim’s in Elkhart for a robbery that had just occurred. The suspect entered the store wearing a gas mask, over sized green jacket, sunglasses, and had a large bag in his possession. He demanded money from the cashier, and then displayed a machete. The employees complied with the suspects demands, and then locked themselves in an office to contact law enforcement. The suspect is believed to be a white male, short dark hair with a receding hair line, 5’9 and 140 pounds.  If you have any information please contact the Anderson County Crime Stoppers to leave an anonymous tip 903-729-TIPS (or) 8477.

                Around 11:00 p.m. on June 9, 2019,  The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to an aggravated robbery that had already occurred. The suspects kicked the doors in to gain access inside the house. A mother and one child were inside the residence. The mother was held at gunpoint while the suspects rummaged through the house and stole 3 guns, a lock box, and 11,000 cash. The information we have on the suspects right now is 3 black males, one with curly hair, one wearing a gray jumpsuit and a yellow face mask. The one wearing the jumpsuit also has a tattoo on his neck. If you have any information regarding this incident call Anderson County Crime Stoppers at 903-729-8477.

This is Sheriff Greg Taylor with the Anderson county Crime Stoppers Crime of the week.

Between June 12 and June 22 of this year, unknown suspects entered private property on ACR 185 and removed the following items:

              2014 red Honda Pioneer side by side

            Hobart stick welder

            Dyson cordless vacuum

            Generac portable generator

            2 Stihl chainsaws

            3 other saws

            9mm glock

            Jewelry

            Bear crossbow

            Many household goods

            4 stealth game cameras

            Bad Boy mower 60 in cut

            Honda Pioneer tires

            Many tools

The value of this loss, including damage, is $48,258.34.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000. Dollars for information leading to the arrest of these offenders.

October 24, 2017

This is Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor with this week’s Crime Stopper report. 

Between September 24 and September 28 of this year, unknown suspects entered private property located on ACR 2713. Once inside they removed the following items.

8 saddles
Lincoln electric welding machine
Honda generator
Orange Kubota riding mower
Yellow Cub Cadet push lawn mower
Snapper push mower
Many tools
Crossbow
Three 30-30 caliber bolt action rifles
Craftsman air compressor
The value of this loss is $30,740.00 dollars.

leading to the arrest of these offenders.

This is Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor with this week’s Crime Stopper report. 

Anderson County, along with all of East Texas, is experiencing an uptick of vehicle burglaries, along with tractor, trailer and ATV thefts.  To help prevent vehicle burglaries, please lock your vehicles and remove all valuables from them.  To help with tractor, trailer and ATV thefts please secure these items in locked barns or buildings.

As with all property crimes in cases of theft, please record pertinent information such as make, model and serial numbers.  This will help law enforcement in the attempt of recovery and the arrest of suspects.  Please report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood to your local law enforcement.

This is Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor with this week’s Crime Stopper report. 

In recent days the Sheriff’s Office has received numerous burglaries of vehicle reports on State Hwy 79, both east and west of Palestine.  The majority of the vehicles were unlocked and valuables such as money and firearms were taken from the vehicles.  As a precaution to prevent theft I urge all citizens to lock their vehicles and remove any valuables from them.
