SNAP, TAHC, and SBA Assistance Links:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) received federal approval to SNAP recipients to use their food benefits to purchase hot foods and ready-to-eat meals and for the replacement benefits for food lost or destroyed due to impacts from the severe winter storm.

USDA Programs The Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) continues to work with local, state, federal, and non-governmental partners to address the severe winter weather effects on Texas livestock and poultry and is working with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to deliver programs that provide assistance to rural communities, farmers and ranchers, families and small businesses affected by the recent winter storms.

The SBA offers disaster assistance in the form of low interest loans to businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters located in regions affected by declared disasters. SBA also provides eligible small businesses and nonprofit organizations with working capital to help overcome the economic injury of a declared disaster.

For direct assistance please go to the TDEM home page https://tdem.texas.gov/ and click on the "FEBRUARY WINTER WEATHER" box.
The Governor announced a statewide effort to collect damage assessment data for this unprecedented event. This information is being collected to help officials across the state gain an understanding of damages for individuals throughout Texas.
The States objective in this effort is to demonstrate the scale of this disaster at the local level. Please click on the link or QR code to input the information for the damage to your home or business to include pictures. This information will go directly to the State of Texas.
This is important for determining the need for FEMA individual Assistance support. This is support offered directly to residents. If awarded this designation, residents can be eligible for financial support of numerous items not covered by insurance, per Texas Department of Emergency Management.
